Stiletto heels and horny spiders

Stiletto heels and horny spiders
Boris

I often wonder what it would be like to wear stilettos (yeah right). No but seriously I got my Orthotic Works bespoke insoles delivered and as instructed started wearing them for initially 30 minutes per day in my Skechers. With part of my diagnostics being particularly high arches and wide feet, I expected an insole that would elevate in some way and that's exactly how the left foot support feels. High like a stiletto might feel but looking a normal Skecher.

The insoles hurt quite badly at first but the instructions say that can happen. Then today I visited family and wore them for the first hour or so without difficulty. Therefore I’m hopeful that they’re going to work. We'll see. Shall I divulge the cost yet? Nooooo let's milk the moment for all that it's worth and save it for next week or so!

The week has been tough. Multiple setbacks with the pain in the right ankle/achilles. I’ve written enough of that, I’m sure you get the picture by now.

The 'good' news is we’ve accepted an offer to sell our house where we have lived for the past 33 years. I’m pretty sure Lynne and I both thought this was our forever home but we’ve also had an offer accepted to buy a bungalow and the benefits of single storey living are undeniable. Particularly my ankles, achilles and knees are not coping with the stairs any longer. Thank you Parky’s for interfering in yet another aspect of our lives.

Actually, if the move goes through, it will be a wrench for sure - where we are now has been hub of family life during the past 33 years but also the hub of the business end of all things Rocksector Records, Blaze Bayley, Absolva, Fury UK. A focal point, a meeting place.

Nevertheless, with the benefits in future of single story living, this should be a big help over time with the Parkinson’s and we can look forward to a new horizon. Maybe after 33 years we should see it as a healthy move - a change is as good as a rest and all that. And the new place is detached so all the more reason to crank up the vinyls for some quality listening time! 😈

It's 4.30am and here I am blogging instead of sleeping. Woke up about 3am and can't get back to sleep. Decided to make coffee, grabbed a T-shirt and whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, on my right shoulder there appears a pretty big spider, waaaaaay too close for my comfort. So, I rip the T-shirt off and Boris escapes behind one of my amplifiers, which by the way I'm happy for him to inhabit. It's an Engl amp - good choice Boris. By the way, I read recently that at this time of year spiders invade our homes in search of a mate. Well, my message to Boris is this... "Sorry pal, it'll never work out between us, you have waaaaaay too many legs for my taste!"

I leave you with this...
