Call of the Wild
Just got home this morning after a lovely day in the sunshine yesterday at Call of the Wild festival, Lincoln Showground. Special thanks to Raz White for having Lynne and myself along for another great day. It's also a great pleasure to announce that our band Absolva www.absolva.com are booked to play the festival in 2027 - the band's 15th anniversary year. Time really does fly when you're working in music and forever touring, writing, recording, rehearsing, promoting etc!!!
Anyhow, back to yesterday, and I suppose this was one of the days I could be worried about how the legs would cope but really I needn't have been concerned. Been concentrating on the timing of medication especially recently and that should and is helping. Of the bands I saw today, King Kraken again proved popular, Muddibrooke were something different and charismatic, Pryma were heavy and good, and Wolfsbane stole the show with this, a fitting final date of their UK tour.
Alcohol was on my mind again and I had a few whiskeys whilst being careful not to over-do it. Lynne was behind the wheel for transport - thank you my holy driver 🤩
Had a great catch-up with many folks - too many to list/mention. Looking forward to seeing plenty of you again at SOS Festival - 3rd/5th July.
It was genuinely surprising and rewarding to get some lovely feedback on this blog/newsletter. The over-riding feedback was that in general you enjoy the style of writing and the content included so I will try hard not to lose that focus.
Donna Attrill suggested I share some analytics (statistics) from this fledgling site which I hadn't thought of sharing previously but I think is a good idea so here we go...
Open rates are between 60 & 70%. I know from previous research that is a very strong rate which I hope to keep going (the percentage of people that receive the newsletter and actually get to open it).
We have 74 members - so that's 74 of you that have actually subscribed.
Unique visitors are 255. So people are reading but not always subscribing. From other sites, such as on youtube, creators are continually asking viewers to subscribe and even the strongest channels/sites appear to need more.
I'm very happy with all this to begin with. I haven't pushed the site yet as I wanted to get a little momentum and content first. So, from me to you, if you haven't subscribed please do. There is a link below. It's free, no catches, should make sure you get the newsletter direct to your inbox, whilst at the same time improving the analytics of my website!
Thank you everyone! Enjoy the rest of your day.
